DMA recently partnered with the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging, and Independent Living (DAIL) to conduct an in-depth assessment of Community Nurse Programs. Community Nurse (and other community-based care) Programs are grassroots, municipality-funded and operated health and social service care programs that are free of cost and eligibility requirements to residents. Through in-depth background research as well as interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders, DMA developed a report of findings and recommendations, including attitudes and perceptions of community nursing roles and services; sustainability, funding, and administrative structures of community nursing programs; and potential role(s) for the state in supporting these programs.
